The Bembridge Heritage Society and Centre, set up in 1996 in part of the old Village School has launched its own web site with information not only about the Centre but also wider industrail and archaeological matters. The photograph, borrowed from the web site, shows members of the society taking a break from clearing the Pill Box site.
The Heritage Centre has displays covering much of Bembridge's early history, in paintings, photographs, maps, written descriptions, artifacts and medals that have been donated. The Centre is open from April to October on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10am - 4pm and Saturdays 10am - 12 noon. The web site can be reached by clicking this link. |
