The Island Insulation Scheme, providing cavity wall insulation (£150-180) and loft insultation (£185-202), that is also free for households with anyone over the age of 70, is soon to be made available to Brading residents. A saving of up to £420 a year on heating bills is predicted for a gas-heated semi-detached three bedroom home following inuslation to the standards the scheme will provide. It is backed by the Isle of Wight Council and delivered by E.ON through local installers Mark Group. The Scheme uses a Heatseeker vehicle to take thermal imagses properties and once that has been done, a letter will be delivered to the homes followed up by an advisor to discuss options for reducing heat loss.
