Following the elections of 4 June 2009, the Isle of Wight Council consists of:

  • 24 Conservatives
  • 10 Independents
  • 5 Liberals
  • 1 Labour

Councillor David Pugh is the Council Leader with Councillor Arthur Taylor as Chairman.

The Council’s Cabinet consists of seven Conservative members, each with a major area of responsibility:
