A successful funding bid to Vital Villages has enabled the Centre to provide five broadband accessible computers for use by Brading residents of all ages at any time the Centre is open. Use of the computers and their broadband connection to email and the Internet is free to Brading residents once registered with the Centre as an approved user. The usual range of Microsoft Office software is available on all the computers as is a printer output, though that will be charged to recover costs of materials. Users are required to download any work they produce on these computers to memory stick, CD or external drive and to ensure that it is not left on the Centre’s computer system in order to comply with Date Protection requirements. Software to prevent access to inappropriate websites is in place and any misuse is monitored. |
